Eric was a strong social justice advocate, believing that all members of society deserved equal economic, political, and social rights and opportunities. Eric's belief systems and philosophies were deeply influenced by his parents, Mel and Anne, and his Jesuit education. Access to quality education for all was a cause close to Eric's heart, and the Hillenbrand family asks those who are interested to consider donating to Nativity Jesuit Academy in his name.
